Formula Dilemma Prescription vs. Comfort vs. Aptimil 1

I've come on here in a hope that someone somewhere has had or is having a similar experience and can maybe help.
My LO is 6 weeks and transferred to EBF at 2 weeks. We went to Aptimil First but he didn't poop. GP prescribed Colief as he refused and spat out infacol. This was ok, but the arse of getting the drops in the milk on time and at the right temp meant we often missed them altogether and so for ease we moved to Aptimil comfort. HOWEVER, although we have been on it 2 weeks now, he doesn't seem settled. He's excessively windy and especially at night. He isn't in pain, he's just unsettled and the wind coming out of him is violent and stinks. He's producing normal nappies and has no other symptoms relating to milk intolerance or allergy.
I called GP today and advised HV wanted us to stay put on one milk, but explained the above, in that he was very unsettled and gassy and the GP has no prescribed nutramigen. My eldest was on this and it is the vilest smelling and tasting stuff known to man, but he took to it after a while and settled fine.
I feel like we've made a mountain from a mole hill in that the sole reason we've ended up here was because the baby wouldn't poop, not because he was in anyway showing signs of intolerance. Would people suggest going back to Aptimil one and seeing how we fair or to go with the prescription milk? I'm so confused and tired
