Moving to Uk from Canada and looking for advice

Hello I am new here and relocating with work from Canada to the Uk..I have two sons 3 and 7 and work is in St Albans

Looking for recommendation of areas to rent in ..we are city people but on a budget (2500- 3000 pounds monthly rent ) and looking for good schools for the kids

Can you please give us recommendations of areas to live in where we can get a decent commute to work but also be close to London

If you want excellent schools that aren't fee paying you might like to look at Harpenden. There are a number of schools ranked as outstanding, even the very well off tend to send their kids to the local schools rather than private school. You could rent a 3 or 4 bedroom house for £2500 a month. 35 minutes by train in to London. Very close to St Albans for your work.

If you search for rentals on Rightmove there is a school checker section which shows you which catchment areas each property is in for both primary and secondary.

My partner was brought up in Harpenden and loved it. Lovely little town and great schools, 30 minutes to London or only one stop to St Albans on the train.
