Any suggestions for SAFE online apps for kids connecting
NorfolkMumof2 · 02/12/2016 17:44
So, we tried Movie Star Planet and Roblox....and we have just removed both as I wasn't happy with their chat room security. Commonsense Media give both poor feedback. I'm now searching for something appropriate for 9-10 year olds to play/build/connect on...any ideas most welcome. It's a minefield out there! Thanks, in advance.

Minecraft and pick a family friendly UK server - mods are normally great and on the ball and if I can remember what one DD used to go in ill post a message

I was going to suggest Minecraft too. Set up your own server and only allow people you know in RL to join.
Other than that, your options are limited to non-existent, because of what is inherent in connectivity, ie you cannot know (unless vetting them yourself) who the other users are let alone what they might say.

Thanks. Minecraft is perfect, yes. It's difficult as they get older....

As they get older, they can out-tech you easily.
So forget about anything working other than the standards you instill in them now, in the hope that gives them healthy boundaries

Mine craft and my now 6th former, who wants to be a Gelogist, had his rocks passion started by Minecraft. It's great stuff.
