Choice on what age to vaccinate a baby???

Can one wait till baby is six months before receiving any vaccines? Can't bear traumatizing her tiny body with all the injections at this age. She just turned three months and is extremely healthy and delightful. To be honest, I am bit skeptical about vaccines all together since many people associate them with diseases such as autism. Comments from those with medical knowledge will be particularly appreciated.

There's no research which has been able to link them directly to autism. There's lots of research which is showing autism to be a mix of genetic and environmental factors but I don't think vaccines are being studied as an environmental factor, presumably because there isn't enough indication to warrant it (maybe??)

I researched vaccines a lot. My ultimate conclusion was that although there are risks - MOST things I wanted to vaccinate for anyway knowing those risks. And I also vaccinated against some things not on the NHS schedule. And I followed a different schedule, giving differing things at younger ages and older ages than the NHS schedule.

"Traumatising her tiny body with vaccines" would not be a reason not to vaccinate though imho. I get that babies don't like needles, but they also don't like brocolli - and as parents we still see the point in getting vegetables down our children

Have a look at the illnesses and make an informed choice about what will traumatise her tiny body more. You are her mother and this is just part of parenting.

Vaccines and autism links are bunkum and Andrew Wakefield is both a charlatan and a disgrace.

Yes you can wait if you want to. Or deny them all together. Your baby, your choice. But make sure that you read up properly on the risks of the diseases the vaccines are preventing so you can make an informed choice.

Personally I'd be more worried about the impact of tetanus or diphtheria or whooping cough on my baby's body than the vaccine.

If your baby is already 3 months she's already behind the UK schedule if she's not had any.

I was the opposite and absolutely wanted DS vaccinated, especially as I couldn't wait to take him swimming.
Have delayed his third set a bit though as he has a cold.
There's alot going round at the mo though so I'm glad he's had the first 2 sets. Especially the menB.
Why are you skeptical about them? Having tetnus, diptheria, mumps etc really would be worse then a prick (or 3!!) in the leg.

There is absolutely no link between vaccines and autism.

Scaremongering and misinformation has led enough parents to refuse vaccination that herd immunity has been compromised and diseases that had been almost eradicated are reappearing. The longer you take to vaccinate the longer you expose your child to these diseases. Talk to your GP asap and get your baby vaccinated. Her body will be pretty traumatized and her life might be in danger if she contracts one of these diseases.

As pp has said diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough will be significantly worse than the vaccine. It has also been proven there's no link between vaccines and autism.

With each set of vaccinations (so far...) my DS cried for about a minute, then forgot about it. Of course you may have a different experience, but traumatising it is not.

I have a 7 year old boy and we live in Rome, Italy.
I was very scared of vaccines and researched for 6 months, changed 8 pediatricians and interviewed them, plus Ayurvedic doctors, naturopaths, etc.
In the end I vaccinated my son at 3, 9 months, 1 and a half year, then 5, 7. So a bit late except the first shot.
I did the "esavalente" (6 together), the MMR, meninco C. That's it. Before each vaccine we did a omeopathic protocol to try to eliminate the harmful substances (with sulfur, lymphomiosot, tuja) and now I know that there are blood tests you can do to your child to check if any latent disease can be triggered with vaccine - if you have a close relative with an autoimmune disease (multiple sclerosis) for example, it's better to avoid hepatitis b, a doctor that vaccinated 100,000 children suggested me.

If you're that worried why aren't you doing proper research into both the diseases which you are leaving your baby open to and the effects (and non effects such as autism) of the vaccines?

Your three month old might be healthy and happy now but she's isn't going to be happy once she gets meningitis is she?
