Hello!
I’ve got an adhd assessment and I’m almost certain medication will be the way forward. My only worry is I’m 49kg, so I’m in the healthy range but still small. Everyday is a battle to gain weight because I just don’t have the natural appetite. Desperately trying to get to 52-53kg but it’s not that easy! I’ve got a high metabolism and some days I slack so im more or less maintaining weight , rather than truly gaining atm but I don’t want to give up.

will adhd meds completlry mess this up for me?? Is it impossible to eat? Does the thought of food make you feel sick on them? Or will it help me hyper focus on gaining?

thank you 🙏🏻

I had no appetite at all for the first two weeks or so and had to force myself to eat; so strange for me as I love food and am always thinking about it! I had quite a few protein smoothies when I couldn't face solid food. It's very important I eat a fair amount as I am a heavy exerciser & train for events/competitions. But, it passed, and once my body had adjusted to the meds my natural appetite returned. I guess you should just try, and see what pans out for you. You can always request to try a different sort of medication. Good luck, the meds have been life changing for me.
