Good evening,

I would love to make friends with people who have the same morals, goals and characteristics as me.
I am quite shy, tend to be quite anxious but I love walking and hiking, meditation, crafts that relax me such as diamond art and photography.
I am not someone who likes loud parties, or busy manic places. I'd pick a breakfast date over a dinner date.
I'd pick a deep conversation chat over a takeaway than a loud shouting one in a night club.

Ive tried the online groups but in all honesty there's lots of creepy people.

Hi. Similar here. Lonely but I don’t want to be

Alicorn1707 · 30/12/2025 20:14

@wtfismymotto is there an age range you'd prefer and a vague area that you'd be most comfortable travelling to?

It could help concentrate your options.

Good luck ❀

Hi, I am similar in personality to you and I've had some success with the Bumble For Friends app. You can swipe left on anyone you're not sure about from their profile, and have in-app chats with the ones you've swiped right on before deciding whether to meet. Haven't met a single creepy person and have met a couple of very thoughtful, nice women who I have quite a lot in common with.

I’m similar (minus the hobbies as I’ve no time). No ND diagnosis though… not sure if that’s essential? I’m just on this board as I’m considering asking for referral.

Came here to ask pretty much the same question. I want to connect with other autistic people (preferably older late diagnosed people) for chat, shared interests, friendship, but don't know where to find them.

I am also older late diagnosed (or in the process of, if not diagnosed with strong traits).
Two things alerted me to my ND - one being how I found lockdown suited me - I know it caused a lot of loss and I'm sorry for that, it was awful in that respect
And also, the fact that the people I get on well with have a neuro diversity.
I'm going along to a local support group shortly with the hope there might be some like minded people. Any support groups in your area?
I read a comment which said that there should be a dating service for individuals with ND and the same is needed for people with ND who want to make friends IMO. I've been forced into early retirement and I need to keep building a tribe.
Similar interests and outlook here.

I have mild autism and only work part time at home. This means I am always hard up and no opportunities to meet fellow neurodivergent. The one group I found on meet up site was men only! I am 62 but have a very modern outlook. If anybody wishes to send me a private message they are welcome especially if they are older like me!
