Adhd meds and mood regulation

I’m on a waiting list to be assessed for adhd but I’ve just found out that they are not assessing adults at the moment. I am on anti depressants to help with mood but they only help a bit. Would adhd meds help more? Because then I might consider going private but if it’s just going to be the same then I will save the money.

Why are they not assessing adults?

I assume they aren’t coping with numbers. They closed the autism assessment waiting list to kids too. Someone is taking them to court.

What about through right to choose? That’s how I got assessed. The thing with private is that, if you needed meds, you doctor might not agree to a shared care agreement so you’d be left paying private prescription costs.

Right to choose isn’t in Scotland unfortunately. I managed to talk to the mental health team
and they said to expect at least another two years. I am on Venlaflaxine but think it’s giving me insomnia. I was on Fluxotine before that. Don’t want to keep trying anti depressants if it’s not the right thing.
