Did you get your diagnosis on the same day as the assessment.

I have an ADHD assessment date now and I’m just curious to whether people actually got told there and then or do they let you know at a later date or in a letter?

Mine was an asd assessment via psychology UK (as an nhs patient). I got my diagnosis at the end of the assessment, they were very nice and talked me through the why and what next. They then sent a full report about two weeks later.

Thank you. Mine is through the NHS, after 6 years waiting I think it will be torture to have to wait a couple more weeks for a decision or a letter.

I got my ASD diagnosis in the day but had to wait a couple of weeks for the report. I didn’t get my ADHD diagnosis on the day though, I had to wait for the report for that.

I got told towards the end of the session and then we discussed next step options. I think if they are unsure they might not say and take it away to discuss with a colleague. Or some might not say as a general rule.
