Advice on Adult Autism Diagnosis (Belfast)

I’ve long suspected that I’m autistic, but have never really seen any point in being diagnosed, because it’s not going to change anything. Recently, though, I’ve started to feel as though it might be worth exploring, even as a way to understand why I do things the way I do.

I’m aware that NHS waiting lists are long, and I don’t really want to take up a slot for someone who really needs it, so I’m wondering about going privately. Does anyone have any experience of this in the Belfast area? I’ve googled clinics but I don’t know enough to know whether that they’re recommending is worthwhile.

And what sort of cost would be average? Is it likely to be hundreds or thousands? What are the waiting lists like? How long does it take once you get seen? Any experience would be helpful.
