Comments from nursery concerning me

Hi all,

so my two year old (26 months) is in nursery and I’ve always said to them if you feel something is wrong with his development I want to know asap. I’ve been told a couple of things like his balance needs working on or that they were worried he wasn’t speaking much. To be clear it’s a fab nursery and I couldn’t fault them in any way. They’ve recently told me they’re worried because when he gets excited he tenses up and grinds his teeth.

now I’m thinking about his behaviour and it’s starting to concern me about potential autism. He’s obsessed with water, will go to water at any given chance, including climbing benches to get to the sink. He loves to wrap himself up in clothes but also to be naked. He answers to his name maybe 1 out of 5 times. But he gives good eye contact, lots of cuddles (lots!) and when I asked nursery they said he is normal in every other way. When he gets interested in something there is NO breaking that concentration, just have to wait for him to come out of it.

we’re due our health visitor check soon anyway but don’t have a date for it, so was thinking of mentioning it then but not sure if it needs menrioning a little sooner.

anyone with some experience of this able to give me a little insight I would be very grateful!

Hi @Mammyofonesofar and I’m sorry that you haven’t had any responses so far.

Ate you ND and is that why you’ve posted in this section and also why you’ve been really focused on whether he’s different at Nursery?

Has he had a check with the HV yet?
