I am under the local CMHT. I also have an autism diagnosis. I have had a really bad time with them as their staff lack any understanding of autism and they have made my mental health worse, I have an ongoing complaint that I have had to take to the Ombudsman.
They have sent me a really patronising letter after I cancelled an appointment last week. It says it was written by 'autism experts' and uses language that a small child would understand. It has really upset me, I have normal intelligence and been in higher education and they have assumed that I am not able to understand complex information?
The letter isn't even signed. I don't have access to any support or advocacy and feel like I am fighting a losing battle with them.
