Insomnia and ADHD

Asking for a friend with ADHD who has ongoing issues with falling asleep....does anything help?

She has tried a lot - diet, exercise, adhd meds, melatonin, supplements...nothing really helps.

Some experts swear by getting up at the same time everyday,.regardless of tiredness, and even better, going outside then. Did this help anyone?

Hello39
Going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time can help to a certain extent by setting your body clock. I'm autism and ADHD and the only thing that has helped with my chronic insomnia is a combination of Mirtazapine and Promazine. Some doctors are reluctant to prescribe Promazine though. It is classed as a red drug. It isn't meant for long term use. Nothing else works for me though, so I have been told that I can keep taking it.
