ADHD Titration, waiting times, what next? Advice please

My early 20s DS had and ADHD assessment with Psychiatry UK through RTC. He got a diagnosis a year ago. At that time he was told it was around a 10 month wait for titration. He's heard nothing. When he queries it he's told to check the wait times. It took a lot for him to go and get the diagnosis (there is also ASD) and now he is feeling overwhelmed and confused about what he should do. I want to support him but am in the dark. so I'm coming to you lovely lot in the hope that you may know.
Should he go back to his GP? Can he go private now he has a diagnosis? What are the options?

I’m in Wales with no right to choose but it’s been 2.5 years so far. (They accepted my private diagnosis but I’m paying for meds till they get through the list.)

No reason he can’t access them privately. I don’t pay for prescriptions to be written but the meds cost me £50-100 a month (they fluctuate).

If he gets the meds privately does he get kicked off the waiting list. I apologise if I'm not getting the terminology right as it's sometimes tricky getting the detail from him

He shouldn’t do. They’re completely separate. Mine are running side by side.
