Anyone found any non-adhd medication helpful?

I’m having a really hard time with emotional disregulation at the moment. To the point I might lose my family and job.

I’ve tried ADHD meds before but never settled on anything or got the dose right. I’m willing to give it another to if needbe but it’s such an expensive business even trying to get to the point you might be ready for shared care if the GP agrees which I think is mostly a no at the moment.

So I’m wondering if there’s anything my GP could give me to help with my emotions while acknowledging it is ADHD related? I think if a GP used the words depression or anxiety I might scream though - I’m not depressed or anxious. I’m generally very happy and look forward to things, I just struggle with mainly anger and frustration at the flip of a switch.

Thanks!

I found the progesterone only pill made me feel incredibly calm. It did increase appetite though.

Citalopram is an antidepressant that is okay for adhd as it helps with focus and motivation - might help with mood if taken consistently at the same time every day.
