Late diagnosis of ADHD
So after a 2 yr wait I've been diagnosed with hyperactive impulsive ADHD.
As a 58 yr old woman it explains why I've been bullied and treated poorly.
Why I have no friends, talk too much and have the energy of a teenager.
I'm sure the grief of how was this not discussed before when I had therapy and eating disorder panic attacks.
Anyone else willing to discuss their late diagnosis and subsequent feelings.

I received my autism
diagnosis today and my ADHD one in March. I’m still not sure how I feel about the ADHD one. It explains so much. I was also bullied, treated poorly, eating disorder, hospitalised with depression at 15. I now think that was autistic shutdown not depression. School refusal. I have no friends now. I’m 48.
The ASD diagnosis is 11 hours old and I’ve not had quiet time today to even begin to process it and what it means. I know I’m pretty angry that so many professionals didn’t think I might be ND instead of just angry and depressed and anxious.
I also talk too much and have lots of energy despite being knackered, and am happy to chat here.,

Thank you for the reply.
It's bizarre that the psychiatrist and psychologist I saw years ago never mentioned autism.I had to tell work as it was causing colleagues to not understand me and I want to smooth out the differences.
Everyone is telling me to get the meds however I can now sleep and travel easily without anxiety so I would prefer to keep on that path.
How about yourself ?
