Did Toad have ADHD?

My arguement is Toad (of Toad Hall) was ND and the Wind In The Willows would have been so very boring without him!

His friends were exasperated by his seemingly selfish obsession with gizmos and gadgets.

His erratic impulsive purchases and maniacal behaviour in his car.

The outrageous ideas for celebratory days that would sometimes be a hit but other times catastrophically miss the mark.

His disregard for danger and his insatiable search for thrills.

His child-like curiousity of the world. And the demand avoidance!

Make me change my mind :)

Disclaimer: I am aware that Toad was not a real person

YABU for saying that Toad is not a real person. He’s probably one of my most beloved literary characters ever Smile

My adhd child was banned from watching Wind in the willows for this exact reason. He spotted his own kind and would not stop running round the house and jumping off the sofa shouting beep bloody beep.

Mr Tumble was also banned.

Haha I wonder who the character was inspired by!

Willy Wonka too. He totally bossed his traits.
