Hi posted on SEN teens but got no replies.
DD17 really struggles with her mood and meltdowns/shutdowns prior to and during the first couple of days of her period. She can't function, go to school or express herself. She went to the GP and was prescribed the progesterone only pill. She can't have the combined pill due to migraines. She is not sexually active so not for contraception.
I've just had a Google and almost every article mentions that autistic woman can often not tolerate progesterone only due to affect on mood.Does anyone have experience or advice on the best option for managing her PMS/periods.

Magnesium, B6, calcium supplements and evening primrose have all been found to be effective for pms/pmdd. Approx 80% of autistic females are thought to have pmdd. My daughter won’t take any of these though despite me trying 🙄

Different types of progesterone have different effects.
