Feeling upset with ADHD meds

Hello!

Diagnosed ADHD last year, came as a surprise to be honest but looking into it i should have realised sooner.

Anyway! I've given stimulant medication a try. Elvanse to start which really helped but couldn't handle the excruciating stomach pains, kept taking them hoping they'd die down but they got worse (to the point where i was being sent home from work as I couldn't stand).
Tried two other stimulants, neither of which had any effect apart from dry mouth.

Now on Amfexa twice daily and these have been great! Apart from dry mouth and stomach problems again. Clinician told me to contact GP when I asked for help with the stomach issues, GP has prescribed me omeprazole. Clinican also told me to drink more water, im drinking 3 litres a day, i struggle to drink more!!
Day 5 of omeperazole and stomach problems haven't eased. Once it gets to about 2pm, stomach starts bubbling, bloating, gurgling, I have an acidic taste in my mouth. By 5pm im getting cramping and stabbing pains.
If i don't take my lunch time dose of Amfexa then the bloating etc comes on earlier.
Do I stick with the omeprazole for a few more days to see if they just need time to work?

I just feel a bit upset that I've found a medication that works but that is causing so much bother to my body.
Clinician says there are no more stimulants after this but there are non stims that take a number of weeks to work. To be honest, I feel like giving up with medication, but I like the motivation I have, getting things done that I've put off for months/years, the chatter has gone from my head, I'm less distracted.

Sorry to moan, just need to get it out!

Oh no I'm sorry to hear that
I'd be upset to ,I'm on the waiting list for assessment, with the view to medication hopefully changing my life .
I also have a very sensitive stomach
Did you continue with it op or have you stopped them

Thank you for the reply!
I've actually stopped medication as I haven't been well anyway so thought I would give my body a rest. Today is the first day I'm feeling a bit better so unsure whether to restart the adhd medication but I'm wary.
Reading up online, there's alot of others complaining of stomach issues as well. Over the weekend my stomach was horrendous and I'd not had any adhd meds for a week. Finally starting to feel my stomach GP back to 'normal', I understand it'll take a couple weeks to get everything out.

The positives have been great though which is why I'm so torn as I'm missing myself on the medication as I had finally thought Amfexa was for me. GP has prescribed me omeprazole but I'm now thinking that really my body shouldn't have to need omeprazole to take another medication, the medication shouldn't be causing me so much pain and issues.

Good luck with your journey! Fingers crossed medication will work for you, everyone's bodies are so different and you may have zero issues at all!
