Medication if you’re AuDHD

I’ve been offered to try medication for ADHD. I’m a bit worried though as I’ve heard that sometimes Mrs the medication can help the adhd symptoms but can make worse some of the autism traits. Does anyone have experience of being on medication if you’ve been diagnosed with both ADHD and autism?

I'm not diagnosed with autism, but I think I definitely have it (my older 2 children have AuDHD and my third who is 3 has been showing traits since he was 2 ) and in my experience my ADHD meds (Elvanse) have made my possible autistic traits more obvious, but I am still ruled more by the ADHD

I think taking meds controls the ADHD side. But the Autism doesn’t actually get worse, it has always been there, it’s just that it was hiding behind the ADHD

I was diagnosed with ADHD and am waiting for my autism assessment.

I now can see that certain things that I thought were just me or part of my ADHD are definitely due to autism traits.
