Non stimulant meds for inattentive ADHD woman

Does anyone have any experience of non stimulant ADHD medication? I've been diagnosed few months ago, as a middle aged woman, and since then tried 2 types of stimulants and didn't have good experience on them.

I'm due a review with the private provider in a couple of weeks and want to ask to try non stimulants.

I'm quite anxious and suspect I'm on ASD spectrum but not diagnosed. I know this might impact on how ADHD meds work for me.

Wanted to see if anyone experienced anything similar or tried non stimulants and how you got on with it?

Just following @Kstar7 as I've been referred for assessment but also suspect I have ASD too.

@TinyMouseTheatre I had a review and was prescribed non stimulat - atomoxetine (brand name Strattera) for 28 days. I'll let you know how I get on!

Also interested if anyone else has any experience with this.

How’s it going? X

How are you getting on OP?

So I took atomoxetine for 28 days as mentioned in my previous post and unfortunately have seen zero improvement or difference in any of my symptoms. I do wonder if I should have asked for another prescription as apparently it takes few weeks for thos medication to kick in, but the prescriber thought I'd have noticed a change within 28 days and I didn't want to waste more money...

This now makes 2 types of stimulants and 1 non stimulant that I tried, unsuccessfully. I've now been told there is nothing more they can offer me (this is ADHD360 that did my diagnosis).

Very disappointing as I'm really struggling with my symptoms especially now with a small toddler who is likely ND 😕 Not sure where to go from here....

Can you get a second opinion under RTC? Or an alternative provider or is it back to the end of the queue?

What went wrong with the stimulant meds? I would’ve thought it would suit inattentive traits (like mine!) as we need a bit of stimulation?

How's your sleep and nutrition?

My psych said a Mediterranean diet helps with symptoms.
