Unmedicated ADHD’ers - if you love your job, what do you do?

Just that really. I tried meds and I couldn’t get on with them.

I cannot do boring things easily. I also forget things and mess up sometimes (not often because my anxiety stops me, but my RSD makes it feel hideous when I get anything wrong).

So - unmedicated ADHD’ers - if you love your job, what do you do?

I work as a project/programme manager/management consultant in a huge global bank. What they means effectively is that I work in lots of different areas and different businesses with lots of different people all over the world and no day is ever the same. Perfect for those of us with a limited non-existent attention span.

Business development manager. Lots of deadlines but also quite focused. I am sometimes medicated but tbh doing intensive exercise has the same effect.

Ive had to have EMDR therapy for past trauma which has helped a lot with a lot of things included RSD. Still a work in progress.

I'm a data analyst but to me it's not boring! Lots of problem solving, data modelling and digital storytelling. So satisfying when you get everything working.

Struggle with the usual corporate interruptions though, when I'm in the zone. I need focus time, not stop-start.

Gardener - I can listen to podcasts or music while I work, and I get lots of positive feedback from customers 😁

Just retired but I worked in IT as a Database administrator/architect.
Lots of problem resolution, puzzles, often had to do a hundred and one things at speed which suited the way my mind works. Also gave me the opportunity to to go down into rabbit holes to research solutions etc.

I am medicated but do business development.

Have an unmedicated undiagnosed friend who is a home organiser.

I only take short acting meds as couldn't get on with long acting.

FFS meant to say unmedicated friend not uneducated friend obviously! Have edited.
