Does ADHD diagnosis affect insurance?

Hi, I highly suspect I have ADHD and am likely autistic. Both my kids are diagnosed, I'd really like to know for sure and was thinking of getting referred for an assessment.

Apart from things related to mental health/ understanding myself better, there wouldn't be any particular practical advantage to a diagnosis for me at the moment - I am self employed, though I guess that could change in the future. I might be interested in trying ADHD medication but I'm going to try HRT first as I'm sure peri is exacerbating everything.

Anyway. I wondered whether I need to worry about an ADHD diagnosis impacting on things like car insurance, health insurance, or travel insurance? Or any other downside I'd need to be aware of?

Thanks in advance!

I can't read that without signing up for a paid account.

I managed to read it without paying. but you could read the comments to start with, it will give you a lot of hindsight into the content of the article itself

Adhd - car insurance - no impact.

Adhd - travel insurance - potentially higher coat, you have to declare any diagnoses. Can't think it would be a huge impact cost wise. I have multiple conditions and still travel.

I don't think it would stop you getting life insurance or make it difficult in the way that a cancer diagnosis might. If you don't have health insurance it's well worth getting it asap. Too late for me as I have another condition now.
