My son is awaiting an autism assessment, I myself have noticed soooo many things in my son that are within me too. My mum fought for answers when I was a kid but...girls didn't have autism in the 90s (😂)
My son listens to the same music ON REPEAT constantly, this has been for years. He's 7 but listens to the same things over since he was around 4-5.
I am the same and have select artists who I can listen to every day for years without ever becoming bored of their music. Or are we just abit strange 🫠😆😆😆
(Obviously, there are many more layers to the reaaoning of his assessment, just something I noticed and found interesting.

Normal autistic behaviour... don't worry!

So...are you autistic too?

Yes, I listen to same songs over and over, and in some songs even specific snippets over and over again because there will be something really random that I will love about it 😂(yup, I got my ASD dx 3 years ago!) I have always done this since childhood and I'm in my 40s now. My 6 y/o is awaiting diagnosis and he watches 10 second snippets of cartoons on repeat and quotes football commentators constantly. There is just us and a kitten in the house, we'd probably drive anyone else insane 😂

Currently listening to the same song on repeat after waiting for it to be released today, after listening to the same band on repeat, that I went to see live three times in one week on their recent tour

I don't know what you mean 😳😂

I actually feel like it's a guilty secret, my (NT) partner and friends obviously know I'm into music, but the way in which I get obsessed with certain artists does feel very, well, teenage! I suppose it's something I never 'grew out of' from those years, I've always done it.

I'm 47, and I've always done this. When I was young, I used to have a specific album on for every book series I read - the music became intrinsically linked to the story.

Nowadays I don't read so much, but I do have specific music (5-10 songs, in order) for specific activities, and it's on repeat until I'm done. However, if I encounter one song that I think is interesting, I'll be listening to it on repeat for hours before I remember to go to bed or eat.

Yes I will listen to the same song on repeat until I get bored and then move onto the next one. Music has been my main obsession from young, I would fall asleep singing along to songs in the car as a child, listen to music in my ears while I read, radio on all day. Love music!
