I really struggle going away on holiday. Can anyone share things that have worked for them?
I'm ND and struggle with all aspects of it. Finding somewhere in the first place (so many decisions) planning the actual trip. The travel is the worst. The faff of the airport, sitting still on a plane, being close to strangers. Unpredictable noises / beds / cleanliness.
We've taken to UK only in the past few years because I like to have the car for full flexibility. Can throw everything we might need in it. But I get scared of the claustrophobia of being stuck in motorway traffic.
And last year our car actually broke down (luckily only 40 minutes away from home on the return journey) but it was very scary and a huge faff.
My daughter has never been abroad and neither of us currently have a passport. But I'm scared she's missing out. She also got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes this year which is a whole extra level of anxiety with managing away from home. Closest hospital in an emergency, all her supplies. We haven't had a holiday since her diagnosis.
But I'm scared I'm making her miss out with my issues.
Anyone have anything that's really worked well for them or any advice?
