My dd 19 is starting meds soon and I just want to be sure it’s being monitored properly.

I had to get a blood pressure, heart rate and ecg via my gp before starting. Then monitor my own heart rate and blood pressure 3x per day while titrating, as well as getting blood pressure reading from a health professional once a week.

I had to self report when I took (or missed) meds, when it kicked in/peaked/wore off

monitor adhd symptoms and also mood, energy, sleep

and neurological, cardiovascular, physical and mental side effects.

All reported via email weekly. If bp or heart rate exceeded certain limits I was stop medication immediately.

I had blood tests, blood pressure, heart rate monitor before starting.

No physical checks at all during titration.

Going by the ADHD subreddits, this seems to vary wildly between different doctors.

That’s interesting that there’s so much variation. I found it quickly became very overwhelming to have a blood pressure cuff in multiple times a day.

Private adult diagnosis here, diagnosed two months ago and on meds. No monitoring before except for obs - height / weight / blood pressure.

No monitoring whilst starting to titrate on different meds, except asking for obs again just before the standard 1 month check in

I keep an eye on my own heart rate etc and keep track of side effects. Not impressed with my provider atm, as they appears to be little to no oversight on an ongoing basis.
