DH’s cousin is in hospital and is going to be in there for a while having broken his leg badly. He’s 50.

I wanted to get him some bits, a magazine, etc, a quiz/puzzle book but then wondered were certain puzzle book better than others or is it all personal choice. I could ask him but I wanted it to be a nice gift.

There is no hard and fast, one suggestion fits all here. All I can say is that my (probably) Autistic and (definitely) dyslexic father had a few hospital stays and through them discovered the joys of Audiobooks. The breakthrough example was Master and Commander.
I think I would probably enjoy it too, particularly if I was immobilised in hospital.
