Making friends

Hello
Not sure if this should be in neurodiverse or disability mums! I have a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder, my 8 year old has adhd and autism, after having him diagnosed I am pretty sure I am on a similar pathway. Not looked at diagnosis for me.
I find it very hard to make friends. I have one best friend who lives literally the other side of the country (in Cornwall she is Scotland) and that is about it. I did have a local friend but she really took advantage of me, when I couldn't help her out how she wanted she bad mouthed me and was really mean. It has put me off trying to make new friends. I would just like someone to talk to, son is currently not attending school and in the process of moving him from mainstream to specialist after a long drawn out fight for it! Am I asking something which is impossible?

So sorry it's so hard for you right now @flea101.

Are you part of a local ASD support group? You might find some people who are easier to talk to there?

Hello no I am not, I haven't reached out as I don't have an official diagnosis. I will have a look.

Perhaps you could join a local support group got parents of ND DC. You are bound to find one or two people who you naturally gravitate to over time Flowers
