Right to choose (ADHD)

Can anyone recommend a right to choose adult ADHD diagnosis pathway? Meeting with GP next month to request it.

Was considering ADHD360 but the reviews look awful.

I can't remember which one DS used, but it was one the GP recommended abc they were very good. Wasn't that one though.

Psychiatry UK has good communication and clear timescales (or at least they did when they accepted my referral) - was initially referred to ADHD 360 under Right to Choose but when I chased with my GP surgery was changed to Psychiatry UK. Was a fairly long waiting list (think initial GP referral was 2 years ago now), assessment was with a consultant psychiatrist.

I think it might have been Psychiatry UK that assessed DS.

Psychiatry UK is the largest RTC provider but current wait times are around 9 months ish for assessment and another 7 months for meds titration. I was referred in May and no appointment yet. ADHD360 is quicker I understand and Dr J and Colleagues are also quicker and I’ve read good experiences.

One thing though is that Psych UK will continue to prescribe under NHS prescriptions if your GP doesn’t accept shared care while 360 only do so for the first year and then move you onto private prescriptions. I don’t know about Dr J.

I have had a positive experience with adhd360 so far. Very fast and straight forward.

I was reffered by my GP, so didnt realise you could choose provider. Just went with who I was given.

Could I ask what bad reviews you have read?
Ive only just started treatment, so would like to be aware.
I’ve just googled but the trust pilot reviews seem ok.

My GP does accept shared care (DC2 is under shared care but we used a private psychiatrist)

Maybe I will stick with ADHD 360 then as I want to get things under wraps at the start of the year..!

ADHD 360 - check the clinicians credentials. I made an appointment and was told the person to assess me was a pharmacist! I promptly asked my deposit be returned and sourced a decent psychiatrist.

I don't think they are part of the right to choose but I'm going to drop his name anyway as it may be helpful for someone.

Hello I had my assessment through phl I'm unsure if they take right to choose but could be worth a look x my children are going through clinical partners for their adhd assessment as it's online. Good luck choosing the right one for you 🫂
