I have been recently diagnosed with combined-type ADHD and have always wanted to foster or adopt kids some day.
I'm currently on ESA but hoping to get off that soonish, once I have had some more therapy and have more support than just medication for my ADHD.
I could in theory claim PIP according to my ADHD doctor, but I'm worried that would be just another sign to the powers that be that I'm not capable of looking after a child. I would use the money to pay for private therapy.
I don't have a spare bedroom yet so actual fostering is a long way off. I don't have kids either.
Is it possible for someone like me to foster?
Does anyone here with ADHD foster and if so, do you have any advice?
