Hello all,
just to give a quick background of my situation.. my son is on the neurodevelopmental waiting list since 2019! I'm also on the waiting list which seems to be taking forever.
It's just me, my son and daughter at home. My son is 8 and my daughter is 6.
My mother lives next door to us (which she made happen.) but I've had to cut contact a bit recently. I felt that her coming to my house every single day and putting extra demands on me constantly was just too much and really overwhelming, so I asked her not to come to my house anymore. That didn't go down very well but I'm trying to deal with my own things and things with my children without all that negativity my mum was bringing in.
So far it's all been ok, but then I had a meeting with the school about an IDP for my son. They and the lady in the meeting don't believe that he needs one. Tbh I didn't see the need for one either as it doesn't seem to offer anything extra for my son, I didn't see the need for one until now.
I'm trying to apply for a blue badge as I think it could help for when we go anywhere (my son bolts around traffic) it's proving very difficult as I don't have any medical professionals to get proof from as he doesn't have an ASD diagnosis. He is on the CAMHS waiting list but other than that I just feel like there's no help available to him or our family.
I've contacted a TAF worker that we had at the start of the year because I don't know what else to do. Feeling very stuck and alone at this point.
Sorry for the long paragraph but I'm just wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation or know where I can get help!
Thank you.
