does anyone have tourettes or tics here?

all the threads are about autism and adhd, which is obviously perfectly okay and have those too so the can be useful but nothing about tourettes.

tourettes is a massive special interest of mine at the moment, which mainly involves me watching films and documentaries about it. yeah send help

i have relatively bad tourettes and it’s bloody annoying, but I’m much more okay with it than I used to be.

I don't but I do have a twitchy eye. Sounds minor but it's quite annoying. It varies between twitching every minute to an hour. There doesn't seem to be any trigger to it.

What interesting facts have you found out about tourettes?

I have tics but not due to tourettes mine is due to dystonia. I got DBS surgery in 2021 to help ease them

I have Tourettes as well as Autism, ADHD, and OCD. I'm very lucky that my Tourette's is on the mild side, most people wouldn't realise I even had it

DD14 was diagnosed with TS last year, it's reasonably controlled by clonidine but if she's in stressful situations she starts ticking a lot and it can become full body tics which is horrible as she bashes her head and her eyes roll - she can't go to school as she's likely ASD (awaiting assessment part 2) and has a lot of sensory issues so can't cope with noise or visual overstimulation - it's horrible for her 😓 but she copes as she stays inside mostly and leaves when things get too bad
