Hello. I'm trying to choose between a few different ASD assessors for myself. There seems to be a huge variety but the ones I'm looking at all state that they meet the NICE "gold standard". They range between sole practitioners and two, 6-8 hours vs 2-2.5, F2F vs online...and then there are the price differentials. Eg both that have got back to me so far use ADOS2 (both either remote or F2F) but one charges £1150 and the other is just under £2400. PsychiatryUK is all online, apparently takes 2 hours and costs £900 but is NHS equivalent and can be accessed via Right to Choose. It's baffling.
What exactly should I be looking for, and would you recommend who carried out your assessment (if so, who was it please!)? I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest option.
