Has anyone been assessed at the Owl Centre?

Just that really.

I'm a 34 mum to an 11 month old DD and I've suspected I'm autistic for a while. Managing life has got infinitely harder since becoming a parent and I know now I need to go through the assessment process.

I've sent off enquiries to Clinical Partners, The Owl Centre and Dr Fiona Gullon-Scott. Would be glad to hear any positive or negative experiences.

Thank you.

I looked at the Owl Centre but at the time (last year) they had a very long waiting list in my area. I did think their service sounded good, though.

Thanks @BoardLikeAMirror - I'm waiting to hear about waiting lists. I've said I'd like to be assessed ASAP as I'd like a diagnosis in place to assist my psychiatrist with treatment options and also before I go back to work. Who did you end up using?

I had mine with Owl last year at age 40 via NHS. The assessments were fine but the after care is pretty much nonexistent bar a few Wikipedia-level PowerPoint slides on 'what autism is'. I don't even know if I'm still under them or if I've been discharged. I don't know if it's different if you pay?

They are clearly very busy, understandably, but everyone I interacted with was pleasant and made it as stress free as it could be under the circumstances.

Thanks @BrightWater. They've been a bit slow to come back to me so I'm going to chase on Monday, but also speak to Clinical Partners.

Best of luck for the process, whichever provider you go for x
