Private assessment recommendations other than Psychiatry UK

I am on the waiting list for an ADHD assessment with my local NHS but have been told. the wait is at least 4 years in my area (14 year old dd is currently on the waiting list too).
I really don’t want to wait that long due to my age (50 in March).
Sadly, I don’t have all the money to fund myself but am asking family to help contribute towards it by considering gifting money for my 50th instead of physical gifts. Family and friends don’t understand this and think I should have a fun holiday etc instead but that’s another story!
I am considering Psychaitry U.K. but wonder if anyone has used or can recommend any other service and the fees you paid, (I am in Essex but happy to do via video link etc).
I appreciate I will need to fund the medication myself if I go privately but am just looking at an assessment and possible diagnosis atm.

You can ask your GP to refer you to psychiatry UK under right to choose.

Their NHS wait list is much shorter than 4 years.

Have a look at Joe James the autistic photographer on facebook he recently shared a post about an organisation that he works with who do a combined autism and ADHD assessment for something like £1300. If you go private for ADHD it's really important that you ask them if they will be able to contact your GP to prescribe you medication...if they can't then it's probs not worth it...obvs thats if you are considering medication.

That’s interesting to know LittleMrsPerfect as my GP told me right to chose was just as long!
Fusciainertia thank you, I will take a look.

I used psymplicity and had an assessment with Dr Gondhalekar- really recommend them and him.

It tells you the wait list on their website

Waiting list update December 2022:
We are currently booking patients who have been referred for an ADHD assessment and the current wait time for an appointment is approximately 6 months.
