Hello! I a wondering if any of you have experienced any of the following. I'm a mum to a near 5 year girl who has an ASD diagnosis. She's a wonderful child, very outgoing, intelligent, sociable and curious about the world around her. Part of this curiousity is wondering why her grandparents never visit or why she can't have sleepovers like the rest of her younger cousins.

Both sets of grandparents live under 30 minutes from us and have never once minded her for even a hour. Even after pleading with them when we were getting less than 3 hours sleep a night etc. I stopped sharing the struggles we face everyday and distanced myself from them all because I just don't have the mental energy to deal with their lack of indifference to what we are going through.

To add salt to the wound we have a family group chat were multiple photos are posted everyday of all the activities both sides are engaging in with the other grandchildren. It was heartbreaking to see but Ive stopped looking at the group chat.

Anyways we visited recently with our daughter to one set of grandparents and found all the other grandchildren sleeping over etc. I just don't understand how they can be so heartless and marginalise my daughter so much. They didn't even engage with her when we were there. I left after 15 minutes.

I suppose I'm wondering have at of you had similar experiences and how did you deal with them. Right now I want to move as far away from them as possible and never see them again.

Just to add prior to all this we had a good relationship and I helped both sides of the family in overcoming varying challenges. Even took a year out of college to help with a sick family member. I've made several attempts to connect with the cousins separately and arrange play dates but something always comes up and they end up cancelling. I'm trying not to let it get to me.

Thank you.
