Adhd meds

Who prescribes your adhd meds? My adult dd got diagnosed via a psychiatrist friend of her counsellor, started talking meds and gradually built up dose levels. She then got them from gp.

However, she stopped taking them (never used them regularly despite being advised to do so). So talking it through with me she decided to start again at minimum dose with view to increase. She barely sees counsellor now.

Who should she speak to get on board again? The gp or go through counsellor (who is slow to respond to emails as has I'll health)?

The GP can’t prescribe unless under a shared care agreement with a psychiatrist is my understanding. The period of adjusting and settling on dosage needs to be done by a psychiatrist.
