Downward spiral from being ill

I’ve been ill with a stomach thing. It has messed up my routine and I’m anxious as anything now, being added to by behind on work. Being ill always sets me in such a downward spiral. I think as well as messing up my routine fever seems to actually affect my brain. Does anyone have any tips or wise words?

Give yourself a break today. No 'shoulds' allowed. Focus on the really basic self care aspects of your routine (eat, sleep) and build up when you feel better
