Yes, I could see that. My husband and I had a discussion about this a little while ago, as there are not many actually Autistic characters, beyond things like in Atypical.
Autistic coded characters we discussed were...
Newt Scamander, Eddie Redmayne as said that he has portrayed this character in a way he believes him to be Autistic. At that time though there would have been no diagnosis of this at all.
Dr Temperance Brennan in Bones. I have read they decided to not give her "a label" in case it affected people liking her (ffs).
More recently, Robin Buckley in Stranger Things. She's mentioned how she has no social filter, misses social inferences, took longer to walk as a baby, obsessed with films etc
The well discussed Sherlock Holmes!
Spencer Reid in Criminal Minds, they did have an episode where he connected to a non-verbal Autistic boy, though playing piano music, and another character asked Reid had he thought perhaps he himself was Autistic, but they never really took it anywhere.
Will Graham in Hannibal, or the various films, but the TV series payed by Hugh Dancy showed it more, and reflects often word for word, quotes from the books. He does say in the show he is Autistic.
