Same thing happening at school to your ND kids

My DS who's 8 and on the pathway has been saying this week that nobody plays with him at play time and that he just throws a beanbag up and down.
The same happened with my DS who's autistic and now 19.

The same used to happen to me at school and its upsetting isn't it.
Apparently he told his teacher and she asked the class to put their hand up if they would be willing to be his friend that day. Poor thing.

Anything I can do, do you think?

Ffs useless teacher!

ds’ primary talked a good talk but in practice did little or nothing. His secondary were very proactive, setting up lunchtime clubs for kids and encouraging older years to get involved as well - some kids are better doers than chatters.

Saying that, ds will still self isolate with a book when he wants to, or wander off out of a game if he isn’t happy and I think that’s ok too.

There are lots of things the teacher could do to help here but the suggestions might be better received from a Senco or psychologist than from a parent.
