I have an appointment to be assessed and I'm terrified!

I got an email (very rude, not very clear or helpful) booking a virtual observation assessment in a couple of weeks time and its sent me into a bit of a spin. I am so, so worried that they'll say I'm NT and that the problems I have are all me being completely self-indulgent.

I've also got a questionnaire to complete and it's absolutely thrown me. The questions quite literally make no sense to me. For example "I am fascinated by dates" - well no, they don't fascinate me because they're not interesting, but I note them and remember them in ways others don't and I sometimes play around with the numbers. How does one answer? Also some of them are ridiculous - "I'd rather go to a museum than a theatre" is unanswerable to me. It's like saying I'd rather eat a rock than a paperback.

Anyway I'm spiralling and just want to not do it. Is this normal? Any advice for the terminally anxious?

Oh wow broccolibush that sounds quite difficult. I hate teams too. Sometimes I don't know where to look. Straight at the camera, at the screen....
I'm always worried that I look awkward.

ClumpingBambooIsALie I just sat there and looked at the toys in the break and thought 'this is ridiculous' and then she packed them up again.

The frog story. I couldn't understand why on earth the police would be called out to some lily pads on the road. I told them that there was no way that would be a police matter.

Ha @Punxsutawney i think I said something about how the police had clearly solved all the other crime because they had the resources to deal with flying frogs.

I didn’t voice it out loud but I carried on with the assessor’s take that they were frogs but consider that they’re actually toads as they were quite lumpen.

I don't think I got to the police part; apparently I was going too slowly because they stopped me halfway through :-/

Can you please let us know how it goes? I've found this thread v interesting as the answers have really resonated with me. Totally how I would think! I have an ADHD diagnosis and usually come out as "borderline" on autism online questionnaires....

Well I'm on the waiting list for Ax and have spent an unhealthy amount of time wondering what to do with any toys. Current favourite is get a sketchbook out of my (every possible scenario) handbag and draw a picture.
