Newbie here! DP and I both have ADHD, thinking of trying for baby, made another post in a different section, but also wanted to ask anyone with adhd or with partners with adhd about their experiences of this/ tips.
Thank you in advance!!

I have adhd - and autism - and am a parent. My ds1 also has adhd and probable pda as well. He's a young adult now.

It hasn't been an easy experience at all. What aspects of parenting are you concerned about? My autism means that I'm focused on following routines and set ways of doing things which has helped keep me organised. I'm also not inattentive, so things didn't get overlooked or forgotten about. I also have strong practical skills and like being busy and occupied.

I think it depends on how your adhd affects you and how much control you have over your mind. It takes a lot of energy and determination to keep going. You can't take time out from being a parent unless you have family help or something.
