Discriminated against - I’ve taken first legal steps

I have name changed for obvious reasons. I am autistic (diagnosed).

I obviously cannot go into details however I have just contacted a lawyer to get legal advice. I believe I am being bullied by my manager and that he is trying to create conditions such that I will leave.

I do a good job. I do not want to leave. But I’m not prepared to be bullied anymore. I need to stand up for myself.

Taking this action alone has made me feel a bit less bad. My MH is taking an absolute battering. But small steps, one at a time.

I’m just putting this here as it helps to know there are people who will understand.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I am assuming you have contacted HR in the first instance?

Yes - numerous conversations over several years. But it has become political and games are being played and I have no idea of the rules. It’s horrible.

I'm sorry this is happening to you, but you're definitely doing the right thing.

Well done on taking the first steps. I was bullied at work and it was horrendous.

ACAS might also be a good source of free advice.

Thank you both. I have bullied before too - it left me suicidal.

I hadn’t considered ACAS. Will definitely look into it

Thank you for making me feel less alone.

I have ended up leaving or being forced out several times, in the past, so I'm wishing you lots of luck and saying well done for taking a stand!

well done. You are doing a great thing. make sure you look after yourself as well. give yourself plenty of rest and be kind to yourself, as they say.
