I think I might be autistic. Where do I start?

Have a chat with your gp about why you think you are and ask them to refer you for assessment.

I did an AQ assessment online. I also went through Tania Marshall’s Autistic traits in women. I took both to my GP and asked to be referred via the NHS. She wasn’t the most knowledgeable and genuinely said “I don’t think you are but if you really want me to, I’ll refer you”. A long wait and ADOS assessment later, I was diagnosed. Alternatives to the NHS are to go through a charity or private. Most charities ask for a donation, private can be several hundred pounds but it is usually quicker.
