Do you have teddies or any other toys?

Disclaimer
This is the neurodiverse mumsnetters board so I'm looking for responses from other ND people

I sleep with a giant bear that is the size of a 3 year old Grin I hug it and also put a leg over it to keep my knees apart or I get sore hips.

I have a box of fidget toys which I use all day and a pack of markers for colouring.

I wish I still had some of my old toys but my mum through them all out.

Yeah, I have a couple, but they collect dust and I have allergies, so it's not ideal.

Yourway · 17/02/2022 16:02

Yes I do and I always sleep cuddling a big squishy one!

Nortd · 17/02/2022 16:03

Yes I have lots of teddies, they help calm me down and I love them! I have some that have been with me my whole life and I also have two huge ones maybe just over 4ft? Ones that I love lying on the sofa with.

Also can I pick all your brains, who have them about what fidget toys you like? I have a fidget cube but no others yet. I've been watching slime videos for the past hour Grin which have tempted me to maybe buy some next month

Lots!

I have a collection of porcelain dolls - they are all the same basic design (I think it's a 60s design of doll) but have different coloured/patterned dresses, and different hair colours. I buy them from eBay - they're quite cheap.

I've got two different sizes of Jessie from Toy Story.

I've got some dolls I dressed and styled myself to look like characters I've invented.

I've got my childhood Womble from which I was inseparable; my mum used to tie it to my reins. He sits by my bed.

I've got a fidget spinner (just a basic one) and a kaleidoscope which I keep on the desk of my home office; also a cube that has different pictures depending on how you arrange it. They are all stress-relievers.

I have a couple of childhood toys, however DC is into fidgets and I love the poppet ones! I quite often 'sort' them out and have a play. Some of them feel really nice. I would recommend poppets and simple dimples @Nortd.
DC also has those our generation dolls which I love doing their hair. It's feels so soft and is the kind of hair I always wanted as a child.

Yes, in bed and all over the house. I have multiple copies of the same types.

I suspect I'm neurodiverse, or at least on the fringes of it - I score around 42 on the autism spectrum quotient.

I have a range of cuddlies, some of which I struggle to sleep without - once we flew overseas, and our hold luggage went elsewhere. DH still refers to the night in question with a look of horror....

I'm sat watching TV with my 'bear' I get great comfort and calm from him. He is the first item of mine I'd save in a fire .

I’m dyslexic and have ADHD. I work in a nursery so the days I’m in the office I sleep really well

@Nortd The ones of mine I like the most are the fidget spinner and my squashy ones with those little balls in.
I think it depends on how you like to stim really. I'm not a big fan of clicky or poppy ones.
I like watching slime videos too but only play with the foam or kinetic sand type ones because the slime is too wet for me.

Yes, I have a Flat Out Bear which I ideally need to sleep with- take him on holiday etc.

My current fidget toy is a snake made of moveable triangles that one of the children in my class (all autistic) bought for me as a random gift!

I have a Jellycat shark made of lovely soft towelling-like material. I can't sleep without having him touching my face. [frin]
