Too many people talking. Too much hassle over a takeaway.

I hope you've sorted your takeaway and you're able to enjoy your food peacefully.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 11/02/2022 20:11

Hope you're feeling a bit better. Meltdowns suck. I try to head them off now by going to the bedroom to cool down - literally, by opening the window.

BlackeyedSusan · 11/02/2022 20:44

I left them to it. Come home for an hour of silence before they arrive back hopefully in time for bedtime.

Just thought a thread where we could come with imminent meltdowns to get understanding would be useful....

Gentle 'non' hugs.

I've been shifting between meltdowns and shutdowns for past few months. Trying not to let it impact on DD, but DD sometimes triggers them. Feel like a shit parent and still trying to deal with her Dad who triggers me badly too and now has a child with someone else.

Having 5 mins and just screaming into a void.

BlackeyedSusan · 11/02/2022 23:50

DS and I were both a bit meltdowny so neither of us were calming down particularly well. He is home now and quiet and calm.

Horrible when you trigger each other. Hope things are improving zebra

Hope you managed to sleep and feeling calmer today Blackeyed

I've slept well and feeling less stressy. I do prefer the calmness of a Weekend morning as opposed to the mania and guaranteed meltdowns of school mornings.

ofwarren · 12/02/2022 09:44

Good idea for a meltdown thread. A place to vent and get support.
I hope you are feeling better this morning Flowers

BlackeyedSusan · 12/02/2022 09:52

Thanks. DS is still asleep, have to wake him for swimming soon. Then they are at their dad's for the day.

Glad you slept well rainbow. School mornings are a bit fraught aren't they?

RainbowZebraWarrior · 12/02/2022 18:04

Indeed. How are you feeling this evening @BlackeyedSusan I'm sitting with cat on my lap, going to order takeaway and watch Masked Singer final with DD. All is relatively calm

BlackeyedSusan · 12/02/2022 22:28

4hour "nap"

4fecking hours. Was not planning to spend most of my alone time asleep. And kids aren't back yet... But at least I woke up before they are back.

I hope you both enjoyed your take away

@BlackeyedSusan sending you an un-hug. I needed some headspace today, so I went to the garden centre: very quiet and mostly peaceful full of lovely plants... except for the repeat 'buy this thing' messages in the kitchen section. I had to replace a big pot in the garden which smashed in the storms as it is full of lilies and I will be upset if I lose them. got the pot and another houseplant Blush

Then the supermarket, oh dear, bad idea, I couldn't get out fast enough. I had forgotten my earplugs and there were just too many people and too much noise; my head felt wavy. I haven't felt well of late as I am low on potassium, but keep on missing the GP as she never calls back.

I was so tired when I got in and really bad tempered so I slept for three hours this afternoon.

BlackeyedSusan · 12/02/2022 23:52

supermarket Saturday. Poor you.

Hope you are feeling better and can remember garden centre peace and quiet.

I can, thankfully, I'm looking at my lovely new houseplant! How are you now?

I'm just having my last cup of tea and then bed to read my book.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/02/2022 00:37

Just waiting for Ds to sleep. Guess the reason I am tired often!

Hope you are now asleep.
