I woke up this morning to wet feet 😮

They were on top of a hot water bottle, which was also wet, as was the sheet and mattress topper 🤔 the wetness smelled of pee.

Dh blamed me for having wet the bed, but my pj's were dry, so it wasn't me. I then blamed him, but his pj's were dry also.

🐈🐈🐈 it was the cat 😖 she won't use the cat litter trays and insists on going out into the garden to toilet, but I'd failed to get up at 6am, so she peed on me.

Oh no, that's horrible. I hate that type of noise 😖

Are your headphones helping? Could you possibly ask them to turn it down a bit? People are so horrible and selfish.

Sorry to hear your days are off to a bad start @Summersnake @ofwarren - is there any way of getting out of the house today to do something soothing? I'm chained to the desk today but looking at the blue sky out the window and wishing I had the day off.

Inspectorslack · 09/02/2022 13:29

My feet are cold. I don’t want to go and get socks 😂😂. So I’m now distracted.

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 09/02/2022 13:31

Step Away From The Socks 😎

I’m so socially wrong. I just don’t get it. I am trying to explain and I’m getting it all wrong and getting given a hard time on a thread and it’s making me so so sad and cross that there’s no understanding.

If it's a thread on mumsnet or Facebook, try to remember that some people are just professional windup merchants who do this deliberately. There are some really nasty people around who don't understand that their opinion is not the only opinion, and doesn't count out someone with a different one.
Inspectorslack · 09/02/2022 16:25

It’s here.

I need to hide it. But I can’t.

dietpepsi13 · 09/02/2022 16:26

@Inspectorslack I hope you are ok. I generally just stick to this part of mumsnet now and also telly addicts and the books section because I find some people can be pretty harsh on here

BlackeyedSusan · 09/02/2022 16:34

Come and hide on this thread @Inspectorslack

Here have some Cake

Inspectorslack · 09/02/2022 16:38

All the cake.

Dd is here tonight for dinner so I’m making her favourite

Got to take the dog to the groomer. What an exciting life I lead 😂

@InspectorSlack sometimes people deliberately misinterpret what you've written as a way of getting a dig in. This behaviour is rife on MN. You accidently phrase something slightly wrong or use a wrong word and then they go on and on and on about it.

Today, I have been driven mad by my boss giving me 'Schrodinger's Brief' for a project I'm working on.

'What do you want it to do?'

'I don't really know...'

'This?'

'No, not that...'

AAAAARGH. He's a good bloke and we generally get on very well, but this is not how you work with ND people... Grin

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 09/02/2022 20:21

@Afflt That's annoying, he needs to sort himself out.

I just got tickets to something I have been looking forward to since last year, and the elation has very quickly turned into anxiety about how I'm going to cope with the crowds now social distancing has been taken off.

I have been so much more comfortable when venues had to restrict capacity, if we're all back to bumping elbows in seats again and 50-strong queues for the toilets I'll be so pissed off.

BlackeyedSusan · 11/02/2022 18:44

Yeah. Social distancing had its advantages.

I have been sorting a backlog of carrier bags to send back to Morrisons to get a refund. Probably go another ten bags of bags somewhere in the garage.

Love a bag refund! Work out how much it is and spend it on chocolate Grin
RainbowZebraWarrior · 12/02/2022 10:20

What is this bag refund you speak about? I need to know.

Agree about being back to normal. My friend bought me tickets to see Sarah Millican in May. My ticket is ground level, disabled access, end of aisle. But I'm beside myself with worry that I just can't do it. I'm doing my Mums head in every day with "shall I tell her now that I just can't go so she has plenty of time to find someone else, or shall I do x, y, z" Arghh. Brain just be quiet for a bloody second will you!

That is exactly my thought process, every time I commit in advance to anything! Sarah Millican is lovely though, so at least you know if you want to get up and go out for a break you won't get picked on or called out Flowers I often get up and go for a break if I don't mind missing some of a show, I've only ever had the very occasional tut from behind but lots of people do it even just to use the loo.

I am currently on a train and some arsehole came and sat with their whole leg and arm touching me. I don't want people that close considering I can't wear a mask anyway and I'm trapped against a wall so can't move. Why are people so fucking inconsiderate? It's bad enough that there's a full-on baby tantrum going on at the other end of the carriage which always sets me off.

I can feel a full on shaking meltdown coming on so I'm in sunglasses, headphones, the works

I hope it passes quickly @EatSleepRantRepeat Any particular trigger?
RainbowZebraWarrior · 12/02/2022 13:07

Flowers @EatSleepRantRepeat hope you're at your destination and manage to find a calm place.

ofwarren · 13/02/2022 19:23

I just wanted to share that I'm now 50 days without both caffeine and alcohol Smile
I've also started a diet to try and help with my acid reflux and this week I've lost 4 pounds.
Proud of myself! Still another 3 stone to go but it's a good start!

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 13/02/2022 19:26

@ofwarren

Well Done 😃👍🏻

EatSleepRantRepeat · 13/02/2022 19:59

Thanks all - the trigger is always being touched or pressed against by someone, and another trigger is baby noise, so just the perfect storm of stuff. Managed to make it to the station and calm down in the loo

Well done @ofwarren that's amazing
