I woke up and decided today I'd like to go to the transport museum. I had a dream about buses and I fancied it. I go on the website, they have tickets for 4pm Angry. I don't like going out in the dark, so it is a no. Previously I just would have popped on a train and gone in, but oh no in post covid UK every bloody thing has to be booked weeks in advance and my brain can't keep up :(

I agree, it's very off-putting. Glad you managed to get tickets 😀

I think booking everything in advance is a PITA, and I really miss being more spontaneous these days.

Enjoy your afternoon.

I agree, also for any of us with phone or zoom anxiety, it's yet another reason covid was a nightmare

Funny I actually am the opposite I like the fact that we book most things in advance now. It reduces last minute unexpectedness and stress. It also means because I have booked something in advance that I am less likely to back out of it with anxiety etc, because it’s booked. Just goes to show how everyone is different.

I'm back and survived 😃 Had sushi, went to the museum, had ice cream (which was a mistake in January 🥶 although it was delicious 😋), then came home.

Hey, it's never too cold for ice cream! 😀

Glad you had a nice time.

Hey, it's never too cold for ice cream!

Oh yes it is Grin

Glad you had a nice time. Like a PP I love that I have to pre book. It gives me notice that something is going ti happen so I can structure my day accordingly and means I don't back out out of anxiety.
What i do hate is phone calls. I despise them and everything is a phonecall now and I cant cope with it

Noisyprat · 30/01/2022 19:11

I agree OP. As a family we are very last minute . com. We had a few days away before Christmas and I had to plan it to practically the last second, it takes the spontaneity out of things.

However I guess the advantage is that you know that you will get in and hopefully there will be less visitors as they are monitoring numbers. Frankly I don't think it will last long as people will be losing money.

I hate it. I find if I've prebooked something it feels like I have a build up to be apprehensive and anxious about it. Whereas before I'd see what sort of morning we were all having and go from there. Plan based on how we were all feeling. 2 out of 3 of us ND, and the other is a contrary 2 year old ha ha. I have had a few times of booking and paying for something but either I've buckled or ds has had a meltdown or we've not slept well and we've not gone, losing money and feeling disappointed.

Outings for me are better decided on the day so I can totally relate.
