Is this an ADHD trait or something else?

Or maybe it’s normal and everyone does this?

I’m awaiting a first appointment for an ADHD assessment.

This is something I do daily, several times daily. I constantly check property listings, job listings, dog rescue updates. Despite having a home I love and am very happy in, a job and a dog. The job and property searching goes back years, the dog searching started when my last dog died, but it hasn’t stopped despite me having since rescued a great dog. Of course I would love to have all the dogs but it’s not practical or financially possible to have another and won’t be for some time. And yet I keep looking. Same with property and job searching for homes and jobs I have no need of and have no intention of pursuing.

Anybody have any insight into what’s going on here?

I do this too, for me it’s a mixture of procrastination and immersion in something that I find interesting but demands absolutely nothing of me

I have seen threads on MN about people doing this, I don't think it's an ADHD specific thing.

It's like window shopping in a way!

Hi, yes I suppose window shopping is a good way to describe it. And procrastination.

I like looking for properties. I imagine myself living in a different area. I think it's just escapism.
