Diversity in Independent schools

Anyone here have children who attend independent schools in London? We are considering this for our daughter, but I am very apprehensive about the lack of diversity (ethnic and religious). We, unfortunately, do not live anywhere near a grammar school and the comps near us aren’t very good. Also moving isn’t possible for the time being. I would love to hear from other Muslim parents in this position, especially if their daughters wear a headscarf. I don’t want to send my daughter into an unwelcoming environment. Representation is important and I want her to feel included.

We visited a few schools near us and they were mainly white or sometimes with a sprinkling of Indians/ Chinese sometimes a Jewish student. We’re none of these, so need to decide on whether to pursue 11+ etc.

There are several with an ethnic and religious mix, but it's hard to tell how they accommodate practising Muslims. Often we use hijab as a way of gauging this, but also I think just ask them and you'll know pretty quickly from their reaction whether or not it's something they've even thought about.

E.g. What arrangements do you make for Muslim pupils to pray? How many girls wear hijab?

You say you don't live near a grammar school, but are there any within a reasonable commute? Muslim children tend to be well represented in grammar schools.
