I realise we are sisters in Islam but there have been a few social situations recently where she has introduced me to people as her sister. This has led to awkwardness.
I'm a revert to Islam.
Of course I accept we are all brothers and sisters in the ummah but my friend has been causing awkwardness with my non Muslim family and friends but telling everyone we are sisters. I'm an only child. If has been upsetting my elderly parents to see sister birthday cards etc in my home when I've never been anyone's sister. How do I address this delicately with my friend without alienating her?
